With two floors focusing on hair and skin care, Beaucage hums with activity. But the pace is never frantic, and that's whte way owner and stylist Dean Boudreau likes it. "There's a certain positive energy in the salon, " says the soft-spoken Boudreau. "We're not here to judge you; we're here to take care of you. "

The warm, low-key salon and spa has all the requisite Newbury Street chic without any of the attitude. "I like to think we're the Four Seasons of the hair salons, " says Boudreau, because "there isn't anything we won't do to make your experience a special one. "

The salon is a quit leader in hair trends, offering the very latest antidote to summer frizz. Beaucage recently introduced a new treatment that uses keratin, a protien that's a major component of hair, skin, and nails, to tame unruly locks. Unlike other popular hair straighteners, the keratin treatment contains no harsh chemicals, and hair isn't left limp oor hard to manage. The process starts at $375 and takes three hours or more, depending on hair length and texture, but reults last from 3 to six months. "[The treatment leaves your hair in] the perfect spot between frizzy and flat, " says Boudreau.
